On Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023, members and friends of St. Thomas enjoyed a sale of baked goods and craft items.
Holiday Fair
Members, friends and neighbors gathered at St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church for the Holiday Fair on Saturday, November 19, from 9am-2pm). A wide range of baked goods and craft items were available for sale.
Organ Concert
On Sunday, October 16, 2022, a concert was presented on the recently updated Noehren Opus 2 pipe organ at St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church. Peter Bates, Minister of Music and Resident Organist at Covenant Presbyterian Church presented a program including works by Alfred Hollins, Flor Peeters, Johann Pachelbel, Cesar Franck, Eugene Gigout and Calvin Taylor. Peter was Minister of Music & Organist at St. Thomas from 1987- 1997.
Mr. Bates played beautifully, and the pieces showed the beauty and versatility of Robert Noehren's Opus 2. Following the concert all enjoyed a punch and cookie reception.
Blessing of the Animals
Members and friends, human and animal, gathered at St. Thomas for the annual Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 1, at 10:00am. All in attendance enjoyed the event, and every animal companion who participated received a special token.
Kick-Off Sunday
On September 11, 2022, St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church celebrated Kick-Off Sunday with sundaes after both the 8:00 and 10:15 services. Members lined up to create delicious confections with ice cream, a variety of syrups and sauces, nuts, sprinkles, and fresh fruit. Many thanks to Shelley Arnold for coordinating this fun event.
Organ Project
For the past three years spare pipe organ parts have been stored in the sanctuary of St. Thomas Episcopal Church by Rosales Organ Builders, Inc. On April 14, 2022 the company was able to relocate these items to the company shop in Los Angeles. Mother Sharon and several members of St. Thomas assisted two Rosales workers in the removal. Pipes that remain in the back of the sanctuary will eventually be placed in the organ chamber to form a 16' Principal for the Pedal division of St. Thomas' pipe organ.
Palm Sunday Bake and Craft Sale
On Sunday, April 10 from 9am to 1pm, the church's St. Martha's Guild and helpers presented a range of tasty breads, tempting sweets, and clever handcrafted items for sale to members and neighbors. Thanks goes to everyone who supported this successful fundraiser! The proceeds totaled $456. Everyone had a good time, and members of both the church and the community were well fed.
